Serious security flaw discovered in CMScout 2.06

Date: 01 January 2009, 02:44 | Related item: CMScout 2.06 to 2.07 upgrade[Download]

Yesterday a CMScout run site was hijacked through a previously unknown security flaw. The security flaw enables a attacker to gain access to usernames and the encrypted passwords.

Please download and install CMScout 2.07 as soon as possible in order to protect your website.

Since it is not known exactly how many sites have been comprimised it is recommended that you change the password on all accounts that have administrator access. It is also recommended that you encourage other registered users to change their passwords as a security precaution.
